Genre : Drama film

Synopsis : After a terrorist bombing kills an American envoy in a foreign country. An investigation leads to an Egyptian who has been living in the United States for years and who is married to an American. He is apprehended when he's on his way home. The U.S. sends him to the country where the incident occurs for interrogation which includes torture. An American CIA operative observes the interrogation and is at odds whether to keep it going or to stop it. In the meantime, the man's wife raises hell to find him despite being pregnant but the person behind this refuses to help or give her any information.

Review : The Egyptian Anwar(Omar Metwally) , a suspect of terrorism, disappears during the flight from Africa to America. His American wife Isabella(Reese Witherspoon) and CIA analyst Douglas(Jake Gyllenhaal) try to rescue him from the U.S. secret prison where Anwar was subjected to severe torture, trying to "knock out" a confession.
The film gives a great room for maneuver. There is no well-articulated position. They are many of them and each is unique. You could even say that it is the individual points of view on the one separately taken problem that can not be considered without the connection with the relationships in world politics. Indeed, national security is a difficult thing.
The film seems to be quite real and it is quite possible, because for some people , it is the daily work to ensure the safety of the state, for others it is something completely unimaginable. So it is not clear how to justify or accuse anyone of the characters. They just need to be understood.
Acting makes us really understand the psychology of the characters that have been so generously created in the process of creating the film. To some extent, they all too typical, but should we expect from this film uniqueness or originality? Frankly speaking, it's hard to imagine what characters would have to do the in the current circumstances.
Music is chosen skillfully and flawlessly. Some songs I want to listen more and more.
Overall, I did not expect this film to be shocking . But all the same time it gives us to think about the victims and how they experienced great pain and sorrow.
