Synopsis:
Robert Redford makes a story of different lives that intertwines together ,the stories of an professor's approaches to animate a student, a former students of the professor who are shot down in Afghanistan, and a congressman whose communication with a journalist show much about him as an ordinary person.Robert Redford , Tom Cruise , Meryl Streep
Rewiew :
The whole story consists of three segments. Jasper Irving (Tom Cruise), a young senator, is interviewed by Janine Roth (Meryl Streep), a TV reporter. But the interview changes into a dispute. Cruise, doesn't give up. But Streep,put hesitancy and aggression, who wins this acting contest, and the reporter who trumps the senator's arguments — even if he then trumps her back, nailing the press' hypocrisy, its urge to duck any blame for first supporting the Iraq invasion.
This time, in California, Todd Hayes (Andrew Garfield), a college student, speaks with professor (Redford), who wants to know why he has been skipping his class. Their conversation might be called ''Why Try to Change a World That's Too Corrupt to Change?'' All of which leads to the third segment, in which two soldiers (Michael Peña and Derek Luke) — both former students of Redford — board a chopper in Afghanistan, as part of the surge Cruise's senator was selling.
This film is realistic one , as it shows the real situation of nowadays world. On the other hand it is predictable , because such problems we may face every day , that's why the movie seems boring for someone.
In conclusion i'd like to say that It is a good movie, but very trite. Nothing new to see or hear in this movie.
